Our little man turned 1

Nolans first birthday was 8/9/08. We celebrated on Aug 8th with our families. Nick and I rented our club house and had everyone over and ate yummy food and Nolan got lots of cute presents (our families spoiled him) Nolan also had his very own cake. It was his first time being exposed to sugar :) He didn't dive into the cake as I had expected and I am not sure he loved the taste either.
We cannot be more proud parents. We absolutely love our Nolan and he brings us so much joy in our lives. We can't imagine our lives with out him. He is such a happy baby and has been from the start. Nolibear, we love you so much!! Happy birthday (a month ago since I am so behind on my blogging. Let's just pretend it Aug 9th)

Can I even tell you how adorable Nolan was opening all his presents. I have never seen anything capture his attention for so long. He LOVED all the attention he was getting too! I never knew what a little entertainer he was.

Barb (my mother in law) made Nolan the cutest cake I have ever seen. I didn't want him to ruin it cause it was soooo cute! Thanks Barb for the cake and it was so fitting cause we call Nolan our little Nolibear.

Alpine Days

This year Alpine Days was Aug 8th (see, I am behind on my blogging) Each year Nicks Dad is in charge of the running race. Nick, his brothers and his dad get up around 3 am to set up the course. Pretty crazy if you ask me! Every year its always a success. After the race is over the boys take down the course and then we watch the parade and then go home and all take naps :) This was the first year with Nolan...he LOVED the parade. Normally we don't really care for parades but this year it was actually kinda fun...Nolan makes everything more fun!

Nolan was so tired on our way home cause he missed his morning nap! We had to keep him awake so he would go home and take a nap...cute lil guy!

The Zoo

Nolan went to the zoo for the first time at the end of July. Nicks mom took us and Nick sadly was out of town. He was sad to miss Nolans reaction to the animals but I don't feel so bad cause Nick was in Canada with his Dad and brother on a guys trip. So he was having fun! We had a lot of fun at the zoo. Nolans favorite part was the merry-g0-round.

I have been a really neglectful blogger lately and I have so many pictures that I need to update...so bare with me for the next couple of days while I try to get this thing updated!
We went to Las Vegas with Nicks family the beginning of July (July 11th to be exact) It was so much fun. We stayed at South Point resort, just off of the strip. We swam, ate and played and it was a much needed vacation. Nolan was such a trouper with missing naps and staying up later than he ever had. It was the farthest he had traveled in a car and he did great!

I MADE Nick ride this ride on top of the stratosphere...he was gonna kill me before the ride cause he was so scared :) and he's gonna kill me now for telling you all that... But he ended up loving it after wards. It's a good thing he has an adventurous wife to make him do stupid things like this cause it keeps us young :) oh and p.s. I made him sit in the front! hehe!!
