Playing in the snow

This morning we woke up to a blanket of snow on the ground (and on the driveway). I recently bought Nolan some snow gear, waiting for a day like this morning for him to go outside and play. So Nick decided to go shovel the driveway and let Nolan play in the snow for the first time. Man this kid could stay outside all day if we let him. I wondered if the cold snow would get to him but he didn't seem bothered by it at all, he was in heaven. At first he had a hard time walking around in the snow. He reminded me of the kid on the Christmas Story all bundled up so much that he could hardly walk. But once he figured out that it didn't hurt to fall he was having the time of his life.

Trucks and Tractors

So lately our little guy has been so obsessed with trucks and tractors. They are doing a lot of construction around our place building new town homes so anytime we go anywhere he sees trucks and tractors and absolutely loves it. So one morning last week me and Nolan were just chillin in our pj's hangin out, and all the sudden we hear this loud noise outside...we open the front door to this:

All I can say is that when it was time to go in he was not a happy camper!! So we went upstairs to find a different view cause it was sure loud, dusty and cold!

Temple Square

Last night we ventured out to Temple Square to see the lights. It was my Dad's birthday and that is what he wanted to do. We met at Crown Burger to eat (a family favorite) and then we went to see the lights. I haven't seen the lights at temple square for so long, I forgot how much I enjoyed it. I can't believe how much Nolan LOVED it. He can't get enough of playing outside, cold or hot, he doesn't care he could play outside for hours. So we bundled him up and he had so much fun. He refused to sit in his stroller...he wanted to run around and that is what he did. Seriously, when he gets out in public with people around he gets in this "zone"... his own little world and he forgets we exists :) He is so social, he even grabbed some strangers hand and began pulling her to where he wanted to go, it was hilarious! I am so glad the Lord gave us such a happy, social little boy. He brings so much joy to those around him. Thanks Dad for suggesting such a fun family activity...Happy Birthday!

Happy Halloween

I am a couple weeks late on this post...but better late than never, right? We had a fun Halloween this year with Nolan. The day before Halloween, Nicks work (Xango) had the families come and trick or treat so I brought Nolan and let him walk around. He was dressed as a giraffe on Friday at Xango and then on Halloween he was a monkey. I was indecisive about which costume since I thought they were both adorable, so it worked out that he was both. Then on Saturday, Halloween, we went to Nicks parents house around 4, cause Nicks mom was doing a Halloween party. We ate a yummy dinner and then took Nolan to a few houses to trick or treat. Not sure he really got what he was doing since he has never actually eaten candy, but it was fun anyway.

I know, I am the queen of picture overload...I just couldn't decide what ones to post so I always post way too many pictures, oh well!

Zoo

In the beginning of October Nick and I decided to take Nolan to the Zoo before it got to cold. I went to the Zoo earlier in the summer with Nolan but Nick was out of town and missed it! So we ventured out to the Zoo on a Saturday (remind me not to go to the Zoo again on a Saturday, way too busy) It was fun, but we both decided Nolan is still maybe a little too young to really enjoy it. I think he would like a petting zoo or something a little more interactive a little better.

Seriously though, this kid was more interested in picking things off the ground than the actual animals...that's why we decided he needs to be just a little bit older to really like the animals. I just don't think he could get close enough and there was no interaction.

Loving those wood chips! Glad we payed 20 bucks for him to play with wood chips :)

But he is a happy guy, so it was worth every penny
